Online coverage has expanded to over 200 international media outlets, in 60 countries and a dozen languages. Notable pieces included articles by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/environment\/2020\/feb\/06\/humanity-under-threat-perfect-storm-crises-study-environment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Guardian<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/news.trust.org\/item\/20200207175812-v7duh\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Thomson Reuters<\/a> and op-eds in <a href=\"https:\/\/theconversation.com\/222-scientists-say-cascading-crises-are-the-biggest-threat-to-the-well-being-of-future-generations-131551\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Conversation<\/a> and Project Syndicate (forthcoming).<\/p>\n<p>Future Earth\u2019s regional structures mobilized to host events that consider the report\u2019s key theme (interconnected social and natural science underpinning current events) within a regional context. Here are some highlights. <a href=\"https:\/\/futureearth.org\/publications\/our-future-on-earth\/#map\">Check out the map<\/a> for the full list of events.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Feb 13, Bengalaru, India<\/strong>: The Future Earth South Asia Regional Office, Divecha Center for Climate Change (DCCC), and Indian Institute of Science (IISc) hosted an event open to nearly 300 students and faculty from colleges in and around Bengalaru. It featured contributions from K. Kasturirangan, former Chariman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), among other distinguished regional scientists and politicians, and resulted in local media coverage.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;25222&#8243; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1582840445755{margin-bottom: 40px !important;}&#8221;][vc_column_text]<strong>Feb 13, Pretoria, South Africa: <\/strong>The Future Earth Regional Office for Southern Africa (FEROSA) Secretariat hosted a launch event during its Stakeholder Platform meeting held at the National Research Foundation (NRF). The Africa Launch was attended by over 70 delegates from eleven 11 countries across the continent; Angola, Botswana, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Tanzania, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe. The launch began with Professor Robert Scholes, a member of the report\u2019s Editorial Board, provided an engaging account of the report\u2019s purpose and origin. This was followed by a presentation from Dr Odirilwe Selomane, a co-author on the report\u2019s Biodiversity chapter.\u00a0 The launch was also attended by Professor Richard Calland, Politics Chapter lead author, and Coleen Vogel, Transformations Chapter co-author. Professor Calland also published <a href=\"https:\/\/theconversation.com\/countering-climate-denialism-requires-taking-on-right-wing-populism-heres-how-131693\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">an article in the Conversation Blog<\/a> and in local media (South Africa Saturday Star), highlighting the report and his chapter\u2019s message for the need to face climate denialism and right-wing populism.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;25225&#8243; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1582840437594{margin-bottom: 40px !important;}&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<strong>Feb 19, Hamburg, Germany: <\/strong>The German Committee Future Earth and the Climate Service Center Germany (GERICS) gathered three <a href=\"https:\/\/www.climate-service-center.de\/about\/news_and_events\/news\/084594\/index.php.de\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">video statements<\/a> from the report\u2019s authors and broadcast an open <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/Df-b5e7cBGE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">webinar<\/a> in German, hosted by Daniela Jacob, a member of the report\u2019s Editorial Board and Director of GERICS.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Feb 19, Taipei, Taiwan: <\/strong>Future Earth Taipei and the Center for Sustainability Science, Academia Sinica held a panel discussion gathering 40 participants including scientists, experts, government officers and funders to discuss the report\u2019s findings. A series of videos and a description of the event are available <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cfss.sinica.edu.tw\/index.asp?url=304&amp;cno=18&amp;ano=107\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1582841416842{margin-bottom: 40px !important;}&#8221;][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;25229&#8243;][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;25230&#8243;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<strong>Feb 21, Bucharest, Romania: <\/strong>The Romanian National Committee of Future Earth presented the report during their annual meeting at the Romanian Academy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Feb 22, Sikkim, India:<\/strong> The Integrated Mountain Initiative (IMI) &#8211; Sikkim Chapter (<a href=\"http:\/\/inmi.in\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">inmi.in<\/a>) in association with Eco-Tourism &amp; Conservation Society of Sikkim (ECOSS), Gangtok; World Wildlife Fund, Sikkim and Darjeeling; and Sikkim University in partnership, with the Future Earth South Asia office at the Divecha Centre for Climate Change (DCCC) organized a launch event for students, policy representatives and the non-profit sector. The event was covered by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesikkimchronicle.com\/integrated-mountain-initiative-inaugurates-first-future-earth-report-2020-event-in-sikkim\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">local media<\/a>. The counselor of IMI Sikkim, Mr P.D.
